Career & Tech students in the SkillsUSA program held their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive from November 4-21. The students raised 312 pounds of food and a monetary donation of $240 for the Schenectady Inner City Mission Food Pantry.
The Food Pantry can purchase food from the Regional Food Bank for 16 cents per pound so their generous monetary donation will assist many families.
In addition to hosting the food drive, several SkillsUSA officers and class representatives volunteered at the SICM Food Pantry on Friday, Nov. 22. This community service project was enjoyed by all who participated.
SkillsUSA officers are currently gearing up for their annual Christmas Toy Drive. New unwrapped gifts can be dropped off in the main office of Building A of the Albany CTE campus and will benefit the City Mission Christmas Toy store.
