BOCES Administration offers the following "Frequently Asked Questions" section to address both general and specific questions that arise about the commitment process.

What if my district is interested in a service that is not available directly through Capital Region BOCES?
A local school district may receive the services of another BOCES through a cross contract. Completion of a Request for Cross Contract Form and the approval of the BOCES District Superintendent are required prior to initiation of any cross contract. Districts interested in purchasing cross-contract services should contact Deputy Treasurer Kim Duran at the number above.

On my district's final commitment forms, the "Current 2007-08 Contract Amount" for the OLAS Service (Service Code 639.490), seems high. Why is this?
The On-Line Application System (OLAS) is a cross contract with Putnam BOCES. On the final commitment forms that districts received in March, the "current amount" reflects billing for two years (2006-07 and 2007-08). However, the "2008-09 Contract" reflects the price of this service for one year.

My district subscribes to the GASB 45 Fiscal Impact Analysis Service (Service Code 616.000) but there are no costs for the current year stated on the final commitment form. Why is this?
Districts have not been billed yet for this year's GASB 45 Service. Districts continuing with this service in 2008-09 should enter your district's amount under Service Code 616.000.
