Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District

The Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School District Board of Education is seeking an exceptional educational leader to fill the position of Superintendent of Schools. The current superintendent, Lynn Macan is retiring at the end of the 2013-14 school year. The Board of Education is working with the District Superintendent of the Capital Region BOCES to conduct the search process.

The school board has developed a comprehensive interview process for the top candidates that involves the
community and staff. Three rounds of interviews are planned, beginning in May 2014. The school board will conduct the first round of interviews and select semi-finalists to continue in the process. Groups of faculty, staff, parents and community members will interview the semi-finalists and report their findings to the school board. Their feedback will be
used to select finalists to participate in a final round of interviews with the school board. The board may make a
site visit to a candidate’s current school district. The new superintendent is expected to be appointed in early July 2014, and begin duties in the early part of the 2014-15 school year. Download the posting brochure (PDF) or application (this is a fillable PDF).

  •  Writing sample
  •  Later in the process, candidates may be asked to submit college transcripts.
