Dear Valued Vendor,
We are pleased to announce that Capital Region BOCES has joined with other local municipalities in the Capital Region Purchasing Group (CRPG) and will begin utilizing a regional bid notification system created exclusively for municipal purchasing departments within the Capital Region. This new system was developed in conjunction with a local company, BidNet, and allows municipalities to post bids, informal quotes, request for proposals, construction notices, addenda and awards all on one centralized internet site. Legal notifications will continue to be published in our designated newspaper, as required by law.
The establishment of a centralized vendor registration system, notification and availability to bid documents, will provide vendors with a single point of contact and broader access to new business opportunities throughout our region. We are optimistic that participation in this system will save both the Capital Region BOCES and vendors time and money by streamlining the entire bidding process.
Effective immediately, Capital Region BOCES will begin utilizing the vendor database and on online vendor registration for our solicitations. We also plan to have Bids, RFP's and Quotes assessable on line, effective November 1, 2003. Therefore, if you are not already registered on this system, your notification options can be reviewed on the internet at www.govbids.com/scripts/crpg/public//home1.asp. Should you not have Internet access, you may also register by phone by calling BidNet at 800-677-1997 extension # 214.
We look forward to providing you with more bid information, less paperwork and simplifying the entire bid, proposal and quote processes for everyone involved. We appreciate your cooperation and welcome your participation.
Should you have any questions regarding this new system or registration, please call BidNet at (800) 677-1997, or the Capital Region BOCES Purchasing Office at (518) 862-4923.
