Qualifications Notification
to Parents (Sample Letter) Under
the Federally enacted No Child Left Behind legislation,
Section 1111, all school districts receiving Title I funds are
required to notify parents of children in a Title I school
that they may request and be provided with in a timely manner
information regarding their children's teacher(s) and paraprofessional
staff. The district must provide the following
information:

Whether the
teacher has met the State qualifications for the grade
levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides
instruction.

Whether the
teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional
status through which State qualifications or licensing
criteria have been waived.
-
The
baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other
graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and
the field of discipline of the certification or degree.

Parents wishing to
receive information regarding their children's teacher(s)
and/or paraprofessionals qualifications should contact the
